SPARK! IGNITE - February 2012

SPARK! Ignite (February 2012)

After the roaring success of Spark!s Play in a Day (Oct 2011), Spark! are holding a Spark! Ignite: play in 3 days this February half term. For ages 7 - 14.

Monday February 13th - Wednesday February 15th 2012 with a performance on Wednesday afternoon, 5:00pm.

The project aim is to create a brand new piece of theatre, with time spent on individual acting coaching as well as group games and activities.

In the beautiful setting of The Bond, Fazeley Street, Birmingham, we will work as a team to create some theatre magic. The theme of the project will be decided by the group. No performance experience necessary, just imagination and enthusiasm.

SUMMER SPARK

Bring your creative SPARK! to the stage this summer in Birmingham!

Summer Spark!

Summer SPARK! is ready to create a completely new piece of theatre -- all we need is you, your energy and a sense of fun!

Run by professional drama practitioners, Rachael Veazey & Naomi Wood, Summer Spark! caters for young people of all abilities from the novice actors to the next Oscar winner!

In return for your creativity, you will discover acting, directing, and performing skills you never knew you had -- as well as making loads of new friends!

Summer Spark! Dates:

Week 1 (Ages 8 - 13): 8th 12th August 2011 (10am -4pm)

Week 2 (Ages 14 - 19): 15th 19th August 2011 (10am - 5pm)

Performances at 6:30pm on Friday 12th & 19th August

Taking place at The Bond , 180-182 Fazeley Street, Digbeth, Birmingham.

ABOUT SPARK

Who are Spark!?

Rachael Veazey

Naomi Wood

Rachael is a freelance theatre practitioner with thirteen years experience in delivering workshops, projects and directing productions for young people across London & the West Midlands. In the past she has worked with the RSC Education Team, Deafinitley Theatre, The Leaveners, Working Parts & Graeae, Shakespeare Schools Festival and she currently runs the Crescent Youth Theatre and leads Theatre-In-Education workshops for Freshwater Theatre.

Rachael specialises in visual, experimental and physical theatre.

Naomi is an applied theatre practitioner, specialising in Theatre-In-Education and Community Theatre. Naomi graduated from Birmingham School, of Acting in 2010 with a First Class Hons Degree in Community and Applied Theatre and worked with Rachael at the Crescent Youth Theatre throughout her final year of study. Since graduating, Naomi has worked with Gazeebo T.I.E Company, The Playhouse, Really Youthful Theatre Company and Birmingham Repertory Theatre Company.
